Akumina and Flow: the PB&J of Intranets

Akumina provides a framework to build out the most amazing digital workplace experiences. From managing news for your teams to collaborating on documents and events, Akumina can can handle all the core functionalities your teams need to get done what they need to get done.

But what if you want to kick those functionalities up a notch or two? Add a few bells over there and some whistles over here? Work in the features that didn’t quite make the cut in your phase 1 implementation?

Before you gear up for a phase 2, why not look at the features you currently have within your Microsoft subscription. They could take you pretty far. In fact, you’ll find that they go with the Akumina platform like peanut butter goes with jelly.

Use what you’ve got

Microsoft Flow is a cloud-based software tool that allows employees to create and automate workflows across multiple applications and services without the need for developer help. And as it happens, Akumina is a cloud-based software tool that allows employees to create content that can be fed right into Flow. So you can just imagine how much more you can empower your employees to create digital workplace experiences that actually work for them.

Go with these Flows

Here are three easy Flows that you can configure in less than 5 minutes to increase the adoption and engagement on an Akumina-driven intranet.

Form Auto Responder

You can tie an easy-to-build Akumina form into a Flow to notify a user, users, or distribution groups of form submissions with a custom layout, subject line, and “from” email address.

Site Alert Notifications

It’s great that you can display a site-wide alert on the intranet announcing that the office is closing down early because of snow or reminding that benefits forms are due to HR by the end of the month. But what if something needs immediate attention? Maybe something like “The fire alarm is for real this time?”

Tying a Flow to the Akumina Site Alert app allows a user to post the alert on the site as they normally do. Users can also blast an email notification to the team or text (premium subscription required) with the notice as well as a link for further instructions if needed.

News Email Notification

We get it, the whole point of the digital workplace is to wean people off email and transition them to getting all their information on the intranet. But old habits are hard to break. Using Flow for your Company News app you can meet your people halfway by letting them choose how they want to be notified when the latest news stories are posted.

Just getting started

There is so much more that Flow can do beyond these three simple examples. But with just these three, you’re on your way to intranet rockstar status.
