Improve Employee Experience Through Better Communication and Productivity Enablement

We've all had those days where we've felt sluggish, unproductive, and frustrated. Whether inhibited by unresponsive colleagues, technical difficulties, or a lack of proper tools, the inability to be productive is crippling. How can we easily improve employee experience through communication and productivity enablement?

The ability to be productive daily, is the most important factor in employee engagement, according to senior Forrester analyst David Johnson. So how can global organizations provide the best communication capabilities and drive the most productivity? There are two critical things you need: an integrated communications platform, and a single-pane-of-glass experience to enjoy it in.

Integrated communications platform

Communications have come a long way since years past. While a heavy reliance on email as the primary mode of communication is still pretty common, there are many more options available. Younger employees, especially, have shifted away from email to newer options like messaging apps. It makes sense, too, doesn't it? For a generation that grew up texting, making a phone call or sending a long-winded email with a multi-minute response time must seem archaic.

But most organizations have a vast employee base with a wide variety of tastes. To ensure that you're providing the preferred tools for each employee (which Gartner suggests is critical for employee satisfaction and engagement), you need a communications platform that incorporates them all.

Imagine one central location where employees can easily see incoming emails and chat messages, join web conferences, and more, all in a secure wrapper that you control. To reach the level of employee satisfaction, engagement, and productivity that you want, an integrated communication platform will go the distance.

Personalized single-pane-of-glass experience

The one drawback of providing employees with all the tools they want and need is... that's a lot of tools. From an employee standpoint, if I don't want to use Slack, I don't want to see it on my homepage when I log in to my intranet every day.

Here's where the employee experience platform magic comes into play. With an EXP, you can create personas (user segments) based on any criteria you like. From there, you can push only the relevant content, applications, and overall experiences to each individual employee.

So if Barbara wants to use Slack, but John prefers Microsoft Yammer, the interface can be configured to suit each of them. But they each log in to the same intranet, and enjoy the benefits of a fully-branded, integrated homepage. They don't have to switch back and forth from application to application to get their jobs done, and they can easily find, share, and interact with everything they need.
