Opening Day and Employee Experience with the Boston Red Sox

Today, cities around the U.S. rejoice and cheer for opening day at their favorite ball parks. It’s game day, and the energy is palpable. Though opening day will look different this year (i.e. no fans in the stands), it’s quite possible that it will take even more effort and communication from MLB organizations’ staff to pull this off.

With COVID-19 wreaking havoc on businesses worldwide, the Boston Red Sox are no different. For an organization that already manages a workforce that varies from between 350 and 1,000 and includes knowledge workers, seasonal staff, and more, communication has always been important to Brian Shield, VP of IT at the Red Sox, and his team.
