Akumina Named a Leader in IDC MarketScape on Experience-Centric Intelligent Digital Workspaces
NASHUA, N.H., January 15, 2019 – Akumina, the modern intranet platform powering personalized digital employee experiences, is launching into 2019 propelled by its recent funding, marquee new customers and 130 percent year-over-year annual recurring revenue growth. Its success has won the company industry recognitions such as Intranet Choice for the Digital Workplace in ClearBox Consulting’s 2019 report, setting the company up to achieve new milestones in the year to come.
“2018 was a banner year for Akumina. Not only is our platform redefining today’s modern intranet, but global-scale enterprises have started to take notice as they look for better ways to empower their digital and customer-side employees,” said David Maffei, president and CRO at Akumina. “We anticipate celebrating new milestones again this year as we continue to deliver the flexible, contextual and engaging workplaces businesses need to be successful.”
Akumina continues to work with some of the world’s leading enterprises across a litany of verticals. Those include Europe’s leading telecommunications and IT services company operating Akumina’s software in over 150 countries, as well as one of the world’s leading consumer packaged goods companies with over 400 brands and products available in 190 countries and North America’s leading educational publisher, leveraging Akumina to offer products and services in over 60 unique languages.
Supporting its customer expansion and product development, Akumina grew its headcount by more than 50 percent in 2018 with an additional 50 percent increase planned for 2019 to support its global enterprise customers. In order to accommodate this team, Akumina is also moving to a modern and smart-enabled office space at its headquarters in the Greater Boston area.
“Companies are profoundly unhappy with the state of intranets today. They’re messy, outdated and a drain on employee productivity,” said Ed Rogers, CEO at Akumina. “Our growing team is laser focused on helping enterprises transform those antiquated intranets, extranets and websites into personalized hubs that truly live up to the promise of the modern digital workplace.”
In December 2018, Akumina announced that it closed a $7.5 million Series A funding round. This investment – led by Richard Berthy and RJB Investments along with strategic investors Avanade, through Accenture Ventures, and Stage 1 Ventures – is helping Akumina to further empower enterprises with the tools they need to easily build and deploy digital workplaces tailored to any audience or role.
